I got to go on an all day field trip with my 3rd grade students from my Tuesday school.
~
We all took a bus together and the kids had a lot of fun singing karaoke during the ride. 95% of it was in Chinese, which I count as a blessing.
On the bus with Yoyo, one of my very helpful guides and a VERY loud karaoke singer!
Next, we visited a Coca-Cola factory/museum. Posing here with my third graders Eva, Emy, and Jenny.
Jemmy, totally adorable!!!
Now that guy to the right is the closest thing to a stalker I've met in Taiwan so far.
Oh boy! lets see, Ben, Eva, ?, Jenny, Jemmy, me, and Emy.
I don't think all of them understood when I said "silly picture!"
Next, we had lunch which consisted of a rice dumpling. (I didn't get a picture of mine but this one I found on the internet looks quite similar) A very sticky rice glob filled with chicken (I'm being optimistic), something black and chewy (hopefully a mushroom), and other what-not. I'm pretty sure I spotted two grubs in it, but at that point I decided to stop examining my food and just down it without thinking. I'm glad I remembered to pray before I ate!
For dessert I treated myself to chocolate and taro ice cream. My total favorites!
Our last stop was the zoo.
Quite different from America. At times it seemed to double as a petting zoo.
This picture is not zoomed in, the peacock was literally that close.
Just to clarify, no one pet the hippo. At least when I was around!
Now if this crocodile isn't scary enough, I almost had a heart attack when some guy grabbed one of the alligator by the tail and it jerked it's self around really fast.
Here we are on our way back to school. This isn't a very good picture but you can still see the mountains to the right.

It was a great day just to be able to spend time with my amazing students outside the classroom and have fun with them!
Haha, it wouldn't be too hard to get the "silly" point across with me around i'm sure. :P
ReplyDeleteThat alligator looked none to happy! The mountains are absolutely gorgeous, however.
